Jio revamps its mobile plans, scraps sachets

Jio has started to roll back the benefits it showered on its consumers at the beginning of its launch. In less than 15 days, the company has announced 2nd biggest change in its tarrif plans. The company has scrapped the satchet-based plans and reintroduced its plans to gain consumer confidence and also be able to make money. It will be interesting to see how the move pans out with the consumers. Competitors like Airtel and Vodafone are gloating over the move, it seems from the media bickering.

  • FREE ADDITIONAL 1000 min of offnet IUC minutes, which would have cost users Rs 80 if purchased separately.

    • For example, at Rs 399 (3-month plan)
  • Customer pays Rs 45 to get 42 GB, which comes at only Re 1/GB
  • ADDITIONAL 1000 min of offnet IUC min which would have come at nearly Rs 80


WHEN COMPARED TO JIO’S EXISTING 2GB/DAY PLAN:
    • The 3-month 2GB per day pack
  • will now cost only Rs 444 instead of 448
  • with ADDITIONAL 1000 min of offnet IUC min which would have come at nearly Rs 80 separately

  • will be now at 333 against earlier cost of 396 (198*2)
  • with ADDITIONAL 1000 min of offnet IUC min which would have come at nearly Rs 80 separately
