Kuruvilla (IPS) – DCP Outer District while addressing the august gathering, encouraged all students to undergo the training so that the same can help them in better employability.

The centre currently offers ‘Self-employed Tailor’ and ‘Field Technician - networking and storage’ for the youth. Centum has enrolled more than 120 students for the programme and the training will commence today.

With an aim to empower the underprivileged youth, ‘YUVA’ programme was launched in 2017 by Delhi Police in a tie-up with National Skill Development Corporation and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The initiative provides job-linked skill training to the youth who are school dropouts, juveniles involved in crime, or those from families in a dire state due to the incarceration of the bread earner of the family. The centres provide job-linked training through its Sector Skill Councils which are connected to industry and thereby provide job opportunities.

Centum is playing a pivotal role in creating benchmark institutions that demonstrate aspirational value for employability led skill development training. Centum will continue to focus on quality and address the unique challenges facing the youth

Sanjay Bahl, CEO and MD, Centum Learning said, ‘We are delighted to partner with Delhi Police and implement their initiative unique community uplifting initiative - ‘Yuva’. The scheme has seen success since its commencement and we look forward to helping the youth by providing them with the opportunities to realize their potential and gain employment. In addition to this, we are expanding this across two more locations in Delhi.’
