To provide Internet in local language and break the language barrier, The National Internet exchange of India (NIXI) started Internationalized Domain Names (IDN) in 15 Indian Languages; however it could not take off because there was no email solution available in the world to provide email on IDNs.

Ajay Data shared that “Government of India has already issued several directives in past for making all websites multi-lingual, inspite all these website have become multi-lingual still the issue was that the email address on these pages were still in English and on English domains but now all PSU, Corporates, Cooperation’s and even government departments who have already reserved there domain names with the extension .भारत, .कंपनी.भारत, .विद्या.भारत and .सरकार.भारत can avail BSNL facility and take hosted email services on these domains and create email address of their choice for eg. संपर्क@डाटावन.भारत .
‘This is truly an Indians pride and honour to have a domain name with our Country name BHARAT and now email on these domains name. Anyone can host there domain with BSNL and get an email address in just Rs 365 plus taxes per email id per annum’, he added.
