The Internet of Things is here to stay, says AVSystem

The world’s evolution into an ‘Internet of Things (IoT) universe’ is an inevitable and necessary consequence of the pace of modern life, AVSystem has suggested. Speaking from their booth at this year’s Broadband World Forum, Robert Rylko, VP Business Development at AVSystem, a market leader in advanced customer premises equipment (CPE) and device management for Telcos and ICT Service Providers, said that flexible and comprehensive management is required to cope with the rise of IoT.

“The recent evolution of the way we live and the devices we use in everyday life makes the integration and peaceful cohabitation of these elements much harder,” Rylko said. “Multiple standards and technologies are already being used to answer particular needs of various environments’ use cases. AVSystem’s Coiote was designed to answer all of these needs and integrate them in a single unified environment consistent with the IoT paradigm.”

Implementation of the IoT archetype requires flexible management and monitoring tools, which enable the coordination of ecosystems of connected devices. At the same time the variety of Device Management (DM) protocols used across industries makes interoperability a serious issue which calls for protocol convergence and a robust, unified DM solution.

AVSystem has responded to this challenge by developing the new Coiote platform which provides M2M Device Management, business processes orchestration, environmental monitoring and conditional action-triggering based on versatile criteria. The proper use of these tools enables a whole new set of capabilities, stimulates business growth and promotes sustainable development.

The Coiote platform – which aims to fully realize the potential of already properly-functioning IoT models – is currently on display for the first time at this year’s Broadband World Forum in London.

“The Internet of Things is here to stay and we at AVSystem will constantly develop it, enabling our customers to make the most of the benefits this new paradigm offers,” concluded Rylko.
