Frost & Sullivan’s GIL 2015: India Executive Congress, now in its seventh year in Mumbai will surely be one of the more talked about industry gatherings of 2015. Senior Executives from more than twenty-four vertical industries joined an elite roster of “who’s who” among the Movers & Shakers of India’s Global marketplace this year with a focus toward Convergence and the opportunities, challenges and innovations emerging as a result to which are radically transforming business as we know it. Distinct products, services, and new business models along with the many changing faces of new technologies have become a driving force by which if not clearly understood and positioned accordingly, companies run the risk of complete and utter disruption. Visionary Innovation and out-of-the-box thinking are paramount for surviving and thriving under such conditions.
This year’s program kicked off with Aroop Zutshi, Global President & Managing Partner, Frost & Sullivan. Zutshi stressed the importance of the world of Connectivity and Convergence; laying out a method and strategic roadmap to which can help navigate companies within such a transformational business environment. “Innovation remains the cornerstone of driving sustainable revenue, growth, and our futures; hence companies must focus on not just becoming, but being Visionary Innovators. This will support the development of products to which address unmet customer needs and even some of the world’s Big global challenges,” remarked Mr. Zutshi.
Manoj Menon, Senior Partner & Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Frost & Sullivan lead the delegation in the next step along the journey he referred to as “Innovating to Zero.” Stating, “Companies should embrace and weave the idea of ‘Innovating to Zero’ into the fabric of their organizations. Such an approach will drive business model innovations and develop new opportunities for growth. We continually need to be revisiting existing business strategic goals and objectives and fine-tune as we go in order to deliver new customer value.
Another of Frost & Sullivan’s futuristic and visionary insights was delivered in his TechVisions 2020 address of Anand S, Vice President, Technical Insights, Frost & Sullivan who presented today’s top 50 most disruptive technologies and their impact on society and industries with a focus on the next wave of innovations emerging out of various convergence scenarios. Anand encouraged all to remember that “Disruption is everywhere, it is a frightening prospect for most companies unaware of such new technologies that will arrive, threatening our market position and send company’s strategy, R&D, and product development teams into tail spins. The top 50 disruptive technologies listing are important technology developments that will allow industry players across industries to stay abreast with the changes that are likely to evolve and become a mainstay in the future.”
Frost & Sullivan also conferred its’ prestigious 2015 Growth, Innovation and Leadership Award onto Keshub Mahindra, Chairman Emeritus, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Mr. Rajeev Dubey, Group President (HR & Corporate Services) & CEO (After-Market Sector), Member of the Group Executive Board, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. accepted the award on behalf of Mr. Keshub Mahindra after having sent across a very heartfelt and humbling acceptance speech by video to the delegation in attendance.
The evening concluded with Frost & Sullivan’s Best Practices Awards, recognizing companies for their stellar achievements, driving a culture of innovation and excellence by following best practice standards. More than thirty awards were presented to a range of global conglomerates and regional market players for their performance measured under various criteria such as superior leadership, technological innovation, customer service, strategic product development, to name a few.
