UrbanClap all set to woo iOS users

In line with its extensive expansion plan, India’s largest services marketplace, UrbanClap has launched its iOS app for customers. The launch, which follows $10 million series-A funding received by the company, is the first in the local services industry. UrbanClap's android application is already the most popular services app on the Google Play Store with more than 250,000 downloads.

Varun Khaitan, Co-founder and Director, UrbanClap.com said, “Since the beginning, more than 25% of our requests have come in from iOS users, even though they were restricted to the mobile web. I have myself been a long iOS user before going multi platform this year. These are some of our most loyal users and have been constantly pushing us to bring the iOS app.  We want to thank our users for their patience and present to them the iOS app for customers, it has a very finely crafted interface and user experience. I am confident the users find it worth the wait !!”

India has almost 50,00,000 iOS users and, as the first local services marketplace to launch an iOS app, UrbanClap is well placed to capture the market of iOS users. "Former Miss India, Kanishta Dhankar said, "I spend most of my time between shoots and traveling. Getting chores done is a real hassle, UrbanClap's app makes getting a service really easy. I'm glad it's finally on iOS."

On its Android platform, UrbanClap receives around 1500-2000 requests on a daily basis, which goes higher during weekends. Almost 50,000 customers are using the platform on a monthly basis and this number continues to grow each month. UrbanClap had 80,000 downloads in August alone and has about 10,000 active professionals on its android platform across 60 service categories right now.
