Oxigen Services organizes India’s first International Cricket Tournament with Disabled Sporting Society

Oxigen Services & Disabled Sporting Society is organizing a cricket tournament to promote awareness amongst physically challenged people to join sports and become mainstream sports persons.  The One Day International Cricket Match Series named Oxigen Cup 2015, will be played between India and Srilanka from 19th to 28th of September 2015.

Several differently abled individuals have realized their capabilities beyond their physical confines. In an attempt to support these heroic personalities, Oxigen, a payments solution company, will be hosting this tournament.  Oxigen has, in the past, taken up many initiatives to provide livelihood and other support to those that are differently-abled.

The Disabled Sporting Society has played a major role in bringing together this Cricket tournament. The Society was established back in 2000 and since then, it has been giving hope and opportunity to people with disabilities, to instill in them the confidence and willpower to become independent. Besides forming a national cricket team for the differently abled, it has led them to victory in several tournaments in the last five years including the Asia Cup.

“Oxigen has been championing the cause of the differently-abled people for a long time now and this initiative to provide an opportunity to the differently abled people to shine in the sports arena is to encourage them to participate” says Rajpal Duggal, Group President, Oxigen Services. The Oxigen Cup 2015 will bring together differently abled players in a thrilling test of endurance, national fervor and sportsman spirit. The event aims to ignite the virtues of solidarity, determination and zeal in these gifted individuals as they play for their country.
