Samsung R&D India bags the National Intellectual Property Award

Samsung R&D India, Bangalore received the most prestigious National Intellectual Property Award 2015 from Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister for Industry and Commerce, at the ‘National IP Awards 2015’ in New Delhi. The event was organised by the Indian Intellectual Property Office and the Confederation of Indian Industry. 

The Indian Intellectual Property Office in the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, confers the annual National Intellectual Property awards on outstanding innovators, organizations and companies in the field of patents, designs, trademarks and geographical indications on the occasion of World IP Day every year.

Samsung R&D India received the award in the category of ‘Top Indian Public Limited Company/Private Limited Company/Indian Subsidiary of a Transnational Corporation for Patents’.  Samsung R&D India, Bangalore was also conferred the World Intellectual Property Organization Award for Innovative Enterprise.

Jason Dongwon Kwak, Managing Director, SRI-Bangalore, said, “It is a great honour to be bestowed with the National Intellectual Property Award 2015 by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. Samsung R&D India, Bangalore received highest number of Granted Patents in India in Y2013-14 from inventions “Made in India” and first filed in India.
