Oracle India declared at a press conference today in Mumbai that it is now the cloud company. It wanted to make it clear that it is very much serious about the cloud business in India. Oracle has declared it on the eve of 3rd Oracle CloudWorld event in India. Definitely, it wanted to send a message among its customers and those it wishes to rope in about its cloud approach.
At the press conference, Oracle named a few customers which it claimed that are very happy ones. Its customers in India include India Bulls, Airtel, Jabong.com, Kotak Life Insurance, Pearson India, PolicyBazaar.com, PVR and Thomas Cook, among others. "Half of the customers are new customers whereas half of others are existing customers," said Shailender Kumar, Managing Director, Oracle India.
Oracle India is already hiring 300 more executives to beef up its cloud business in India. These people will be part of the sales and marketing team in India who will focus on retaining customers are guiding them to use all features of the Oracle cloud solutions.
