ASUS Zenfone 2: A powerful device at the compelling price

Just when we started assuming that smartphone market has hit the dead end, Asus is back with ASUS Zenfone 2. While ASUS has to compete with Samsung, iPhone and other Chinese counterparts whose stunning devices are already doing the rounds in the market, it is necessary for the company to create sensation that does not go unnoticed. Perhaps the company does not disappoint.

The company claims to have the wow-factor in ZenFone 2 through innovative features. But the biggest differentiating factor in the smartphone is nothing but its unmatched RAM. ASUS has powered the phone with 4GB RAM which is unheard of in the smartphone domain. It is a far cry since this empowers the device with unmatched speeds and giving users freedom to access multiple applications at the same time.

ASUS is the first company which tried to test with so high a RAM in a smartphone. Others refrained mainly because it runs the risk of draining battery quickly. But ASUS claims to give you a substantial battery life. Coupled with 4GB RAM is an Intel 64-bit quad-core processor. Understanding the consumer sentiments and expectations, the company has tried to give a powerhouse. From technology standpoint the company is playing its trump card to win over customers through unprecedented technology powerhouse. However, the real test will take place when the handset passes the floor test after the launch. At present, the device seems like an excellent package which comes embedded with 32GB internal storage, out of which 26 GB is user accessible. Plus, the Zenfone comes with two SIM slots – 4G and 2G – and sports a microSD card slot that supports memory card of up to 64 GB.

The Zenfone 2 performs better than expected and produces good results in both bright-light and low-light conditions. Featuring Ergonomic Arc Design, it sports Android Lollipop with ZenUI atop. Besides, the Zenfone 2 has a plethora of Asus' proprietary apps.

The Zenfone 2 can be a gateway for the company to recreate its magic in the minds of consumers as the country is looking for really powerful devices that can compete and surpass speeds that of the PCs. ASUS has broken the barrier with its price tag as well. It has priced the device at Rs 20,000. It is a compelling price point that has potential to create a specific space for the company in the market. As already discussed, the company has planned to launch the smartphone at a critical time especially when the consumers are fed up with the smartphones that has nothing in the name of innovation.

The smartphone will be execlusively sold through Flipkart from 23rd April when it would be officially launched.
