India's National Policy on IoT is on its way

The Indian government is really serious about the use of IoT in various government services. In addition, the government is willing to see how the Internet of Things can transform the entire ecosystem allowing all stakeholders to discover and invent new revenue models. This is the reason that Indian government is formulating the National Policy on Internet of Things. This was recently announced by one of the persons in the government at a conference.

While the western markets claim to use IoT for business transformation, Indian government does want to show how keen it is to stay ahead of the curve. It wants to frame all guidelines in advance so that there is no roadblock for the industry to set up and run businesses. The IoT is going to play a huge role in the smart cities in India about which the Modi government had already announced.

It is expected that the National Policy on IoT might be a reality by the end of this year. It is with various departments at present for consultation and views. If it becomes a reality, it would be a great step for the industry and the Indian government.
