Yesterday, Samsung pitched its most awaited handsets in India and globally with high hopes. But Samsung would be disappointed to know that experts have already given their thumbs down to the handsets, not because they do not compete with other handsets but only because they compete with other handsets in the market which are far too cheaper.
One of the Analysts talks to The Data Driver and terms the handsets as bare duds. He even goes on calling these handsets as waste of money. The GALAXY S6 edge claims to provide a solid grip and an immersive viewing experience with the curved display on both sides. The two devices claim to offer a reimagined user experience, the fastest charging technology, intuitive features, defence grade mobile security, touch fingerprint scanner and data protection through an upgraded Samsung KNOX security system.
While Samsung has pitched the handsets against iPhone6, the duo does not even stand to pass the test. The looks are better than the earlier handsets by Samsung but they are not enough to draw consumers. A telecom journalist who has worked in the industry for about 15 years speaks to The Data Driver counting on different flaws of the handsets,. He rather counts on the company strategy which he thinks is killing the brand in India. According to him, the company is taking a long time to revamp its product line. The culture of orthodoxy has gripped the global handset maker. It needs to introduce a new range of handset and should avoid working like Apple which has a culture of introducing the versions.
The Data Driver also believes that the company has a lot of flaws in its existing approach to go to the market. It needs to adopt a new strategy to look fresh to the consumers which expect much more from the company.
