The 12th edition of the CSI-Nihilent e-Governance awards is all set to take place on the 13th of December at the staff college auditorium of JNTU, Hyderabad, on the side-lines of the annual convention of the Computer Society of India (CSI).
As many as five Indian states have been nominated for the prestigious awards this year, the highest number since it was instituted. Several other projects have been shortlisted for the awards, which will be given away on Saturday, the 13th of December. The awards is an initiative by CSI’s Special Interest Group on e-Governance (SIG eGov), which has been one of the premier consulting organizations for eGovernance in India.
Speaking about the event, Prof. Harish Iyer, Joint Convener, CSI-Nihilent eGovernance Awards 2013-14 said, “The awards have continued to grow in stature and scale over the last decade, and it is a similar if better story this year. I can say with confidence that we have been instrumental in driving increased number of eGov initiatives in the country.”
Brig. Philip Manoharan, one of the founder members of Nihilent added, “Nihilent is a pioneer in sponsoring the e-Governance award for the past 12 years, ever since they were institute. We are proud of fact that these awards have acted as true catalysts in spreading the e-Governance culture across the land – yielding e-initiatives which have amazingly transformed the life of the common man in this country.”
