As the taxi segment continues to hot up in the country, RailYatri.in claimed to be on the largest aggregator of branded professional taxi service providers in the country, with partners covering over 30 cities in the country.
“The taxi market in India is highly fragmented. So, while on one hand travellers struggle to find a reliable provider, professional taxi companies find it expensive to reach out to travellers”, says Manish Rathi, CEO, RailYatri.in. “We saw the need for an aggregator who could bring quality taxi partners together on a single platform. Our aim is to cover the top 200 cities across the country. We are growing rapidly and aim to be in every state by the end of this fiscal year”
With travel now an essential aspect of modern life, taxi services have grownmanifold– partly due to the competitive pricing (in some cities taxi rates are at par with the local autos at Rs 10/km) and partly due to dissatisfaction with the 3-wheeler local transport options. Taxi services score high on safety, hygiene and comfort and as long as the current pricing lasts, these are a vastly superior option compared to the auto-rickshaws.
With RailYatri.in having made the first move in this space, it would be interesting to watch if the trend indeed catches on, and if other players would follow the trend set by RailYatri.in.
