Amdocs leads global Revenue Management Market for 7th Year in a row

Amdocs announced that Analysys Mason’s “Revenue management systems: worldwide market shares 2013” report has named Amdocs the global market-share leader in the overall revenue management space for the seventh consecutive year. According to Analysys Mason, Amdocs is the only vendor with overall market-share leadership across all geographical regions, and estimates Amdocs’ market share at 26.5 percent, nearly three times that of the second-placed vendor (with 9.6 percent).

The revenue management market covered by Analysys Mason includes billing, mediation, partner and interconnect solutions, across systems and services. Within billing, the report highlights the growing demand for convergent charging solutions in all regions, with convergent platforms becoming a mandatory requirement in all new revenue management deployments, and the report names Amdocs market-share leader in this sub-segment as well.

“Service providers are spending more with fewer vendors and have adopted a ‘best-of-suite’ rather than ‘best-of-breed’ approach,” said John Abraham, Senior Analyst at the revenue management program at Analysys Mason. “Amdocs offers integrated ‘super-suites’ to address service provider requirements end-to-end, and is, according to our data, the preferred supplier of Tier-1 players. By offering strong real-time capabilities, the company’s convergent charging solution is well-positioned for further growth in this market. Amdocs also enables service providers to retire network-based prepaid charging systems, supporting both prepaid and postpaid offerings with one charging solution.”

Furthermore, according to the Analysys Mason report, vendors today need to be able to offer policy-based charging capabilities, whether themselves or through partnerships, in order to address service providers’ growing need to charge for data delivered over mobile broadband, and for new types of data plans such as shared family and device plans. Analysys Mason also notes that as revenue management platforms move closer to real-time processing due to the constant growth in data usage, service providers need charging systems that can process this larger volume of usage data.

“Amdocs continues to invest in product and services innovation and has introduced offerings to address emerging needs in the areas of policy and charging integration as well as that of processing larger volumes of usage data,” said Rebecca Prudhomme, vice president of product and solutions marketing at Amdocs. “Amdocs Omni Convergent Charging integrates policy control with real-time charging, an enterprise product catalog and service delivery, enabling service provider flexibility to define, launch and monetize any service bundle with fast time to market for new offers. Amdocs TeraScale delivers carrier-grade, real-time data management capabilities and analytics enablement, optimized for big data analytics.”
