My Refers, one of the leading ‘friend-help-friend’ referral networks across the world appoints Avnish Anand as a Co-founder and Chief Product Officer. In this role, Avnish will lead the product management, marketing and business intelligence functions.
Lalit Bhagia, Founder & Chief Executive Officer, MyRefers explains, “MyRefers is a young organisation and we seem to be shaping up quite well. We are one of the leading and most exciting players in talent crowd sourcing with 35+ clients already on board, some 667 + jobs with over INR 1.37 crores of referral rewards to give out. Our core consumer product and its extended SAAS based offerings are in its beta version have shown successful runs of testing with our clients and end users. The response so far has been extremely constructive. We see the current set of client partnerships growing phenomenally over the next three years. It is not just logical but also a crucial phase for me to bring on board an expert like Avnish. As a co-founder he will take on a broad set of responsibilities to help achieve necessary business results for MyRefers. Avnish has spent most of his professional life building online businesses. He has experience in both the classifieds as well as the ecommerce space. His last stint was with Times Business Solutions Limited, where he built and led new business verticals in the social recruitment and career learning space. He led Techgig.com, India’s largest Technology Community and StepAhead, one of India’s leading online career services portal. Previously, Avnish was part of the core founding team that built CaratLane.com, India’s first and largest online jewellery store. Prior to that he had been in various sales and marketing roles with Onida, Standard Chartered Bank and DuPont. He has also been a successful sports blogger and has contributed to various online and print publications.
Avnish has an MBA in marketing and Finance from IIM Lucknow (2001 – 2003) and a bachelors in Statistics, Economics and Mathematics from Indian Statistical Institute Kolkata (1998 – 2001).
Avnish and Lalit met through a common friend and surprisingly found each other to be equally passionate about building a referral based platform. They continued to talk, one thing led to another and very soon Avnish decided to join hands with Lalit.
