Nokia Asha touch phones receive new software update

Nokia has rolled out a new software update, platform 1.4, for its Asha touchscreen phones, bringing new functionality and improvements to its Asha range of devices. The new firmware offers several improved features such as MixRadio (an enhanced music application), a better camera, OneDrive access and a more social and updated Fastlane. The update is available for Asha 230, Asha 500, Asha 501, Asha 502 and Asha 503.

The latest Asha software update brings Nokia's MixRadio, the free and personalized music streaming service. For those without access to data connection on the move, Nokia MixRadio will even allow users to listen to music offline. Nokia MixRadio is available on Asha 500, Asha 502 and Asha 503 devices. Nokia is also offering 7GB of free storage on Microsoft’s OneDrive and it is possible to automatically or manually transfer digital content to the cloud directly from the phone.

The software updates include innovative additions to the camera app, with a voice-guided selfie feature and panorama mode; a power save mode for battery durability; performance improvements; improved video stabilization and parental control for the browser and Nokia Store access.

Users can check for software up gradation by visiting ‘Phone Update’ in the Settings menu to check if it is available for their phone as yet or not.
