Nokia Lumia 1520 inspires Rina Dhaka at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week 2014

Smartphones play an increasingly integral role within fashion, and more specifically on the front row of global fashion week shows, with designs online before they hit the end of the runway. The leading functionality, design and imaging capabilities of the Nokia Lumia 1520 make it a perfect tool for the fashion world.

Nokia, an official partner at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week 2014, has tied up with leading fashion designer Rina Dhaka, to create her exclusive Fashion Week collection. Inspired by the latest and biggest of the Nokia Lumia series- the Nokia Lumia 1520, the collection will be showcased at the fashion week on 26th March. This partnership was facilitated by Mahesh Bhupati’s company Globosportworld.

"Talking about her experience with Nokia Lumia, Rina Dhaka said, “I am delighted to be associated with Nokia, a leading lifestyle-technology brand. The brand and essence story of Nokia Lumia 1520 being ‘colors and design’ was an inspiration for me and has brought a symmetrical fit into my collection, which is all about colors and style and the collection also captures many moods and moments. The character of the collection, reminisces a story through this beautiful journey of colors and expressions, just like the Nokia Lumia 1520. The Nokia Lumia 1520 helped me craft a pleasing story which any artist would want to portray through their work .The sleek design, large screen, and the colorful tiles from the interface worked to be a great inspiration for me. One look at the collection will justify the true essence of what the Nokia Lumia 1520 has to offer, bringing the best of style, design, and colors.”

Speaking on the association, Viral Oza, Director-Marketing, Nokia India said, “As style permeates into the ethos of Smartphones today, Nokia Lumia leads ‘design innovation’ within the industry. We are excited to partner with the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week and fashion icon Rina Dhaka for her Nokia Lumia 1520 inspired collection. At Nokia, we always thrive to appeal to the young and socially active consumers with our iconic products which blend style with substance, making us lead the 'technology and style' change today”.

With its 6 inch large screen, full HD assertive display and great readability in sunlight, the Nokia Lumia 1520 acted as the designer’s new canvas to tell her story. The theme of Rina’s collection will primarily focus on Black & White creating a canvas for colors to pop out. The look is an inspiration of modern classic, contemporary silhouettes amalgamated with traditional techniques for surface development that matches the design and feel of the Lumia devices. The Nokia Lumia 1520 is a beautifully and sleek device that comes with unparalleled  HD 1080p Video Recording, Multi Directional Audio Capture with 4 Speakers and 20MP PureView  Camera capabilities. With the Nokia Lumia 1520 one can capture and re-live most memorable moments, as they happen.

Design is an essential part of Nokia. At Nokia, a good mobile design is about more than just style, it has to deliver objects and services that are not only beautiful to look at but that also work just the way people want them to. This beauty of use is central to Nokia’s design work and brand. Nokia designs are created always for the future, to shape the future, working years ahead and with an intention to have an impact on how one uses mobile communication in their lives in the future.

Nokia’s Lumia range offers stylish power-packed smartphones with a wide range of features to enhance the on-the-go experience for the consumers today.

Nokia has a long history of working within fashion, bringing  internationally renowned photographers David Bailey and Bruce Weber together to shoot together for the first time in history using the 41 megapixel Nokia Lumia 1020. Very recently, Nokia also tied up exciting design duo, Fyodor Golan, for London Fashion Week, to create the world’s first interactive skirt made up of Nokia Lumia 1520 smartphones, and recently the Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2014.
