In a constant endeavor to augment D-SLR market in India, Nikon India, 100% subsidiary of Nikon Corporation Tokyo, rolled out its latest offerings - Nikon D4S and the Nikon D3300 at an event. The new models are the culmination of leading technology that brings innovation to both photo imaging culture and the evolution of cameras.

With the introduction of latest D-SLR cameras, Nikon continues to push the boundaries of professional image quality, speed and features. Nikon’s Flagship D-SLRs symbolizes the evolution of a masterpiece, reinforcing Nikon as the choice for amateurs, photo enthusiasts and professional photographers.

Commenting at the launch, Hiroshi Takashina, Managing Director, Nikon India said, “Today’s announcement reiterates our commitment to offer products that exhibit exceptional performance and image quality in challenging environments. Our D-SLR camera business has become more successful than ever with over 20% growth over the last year. With these latest offerings in the D-SLR range, our aim is to enliven the basic principles of trustworthiness and creativity that Nikon as a brand stands for.”

“Our strategy for the Nikon D-SLR lineup is to provide a quality product, while meeting the diversified consumer needs. We aim to achieve this through innovation and high quality standards that our cameras, lenses and accessories demonstrate, thereby enabling consumers to capture life’s great moments while experiencing richer photographic capabilities.” he added

With the launch of latest D-SLR cameras, the company is delivering on its promise of constantly updating the technology that meets the ever growing and fluctuating demand of the customers. Nikon’s flagship model D4S, is the ultimate full-frame D-SLR designed to deliver outstanding image and video quality with exceptional focusing accuracy. It will build upon the success of the acclaimed Nikon D4, a camera highly regarded for its speed, unrivaled low-light performance ability and amazing image quality that made it the choice of professionals and advanced amateurs around the world. D4S represents a concentration of Nikon's advanced camera development technologies and legacy as a leader in imaging, which will further expand the possibilities for professional photographers who demand the best possible performance and image quality in challenging environments.

The D4S ropes refined algorithms for the autofocus (AF) system that is more accurate, versatile, and faster and is better suited to acquire and track subjects regardless of whether they enter the frame suddenly or take up the entire frame, for a more powerful composition. In addition to that the D-Movie function of D4S offers recording at Full-HD 1920 × 1080 60p/50p movies. The D4S also features new EXPEED 4 image-processing engine, together with a new Nikon FX-format CMOS image sensor, and an effective pixel count of 16.2-million pixels that enables photographers to capture images with stunning sharpness, enhanced depth, and natural skin tones. A range of sensitivities from ISO 100 to ISO 25,600 produces images with sharper edges and smoother, richer colors. The ISO range can be extended to ISO 409,600 equivalent at Hi 4 for overcoming the most challenging lighting conditions.

The D3300 a DX-format camera features advanced technology that delivers outstanding image quality with easy operability by leveraging Nikon's renowned technologies. The lightweight camera is equipped with a high resolution 24.2 megapixel DX-format CMOS sensor without an optical low-pass filter and the latest EXPEED 4 image processing system to deliver stellar image and video quality. Budding film-makers can also take advantage of the smooth Full HD movie recording with 1080/60p support. Whether new to photography or upgrading from a point-and-shoot, the D3300 features Nikon's instructive Guide Mode with increased options to help unleash the photographer within you. The AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VRⅡ is the first lens for Nikon SLR cameras (F mount) to offer a retractable lens mechanism, reducing its overall size by approximately 30% over the existing 18-55mm NIKKOR lens. Other improvements include revision of mechanical design for a lighter weight, adoption of the latest optical design for greater optical performance, and an even shorter minimum focusing distance.

The D3300 features 13 special effect modes and various retouch menu options to extend the enjoyment of photographic expression. Users will also be able to take advantage of the WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter to wirelessly control the camera’s shutter, and transfer images to smartphones and tablets based on Android and iOS operating systems, designate image size and add location information to images.

Present at the occasion, Mr. Raghu Rai, Photographer said “Photography is an art form to capture creative expression and Nikon’s aim to promote this art in India is a remarkable effort. It is nice to be associated with a brand like Nikon which have been consistent in their commitment allowing the photography lovers to acuminate their photographic skills. I am delighted to be a part of Nikon’s D-SLR camera launch today.
