Microsoft
India recently moved into a spanking new office on the 10th
floor of the Epitome Building in DLF Cyber City, Gurgaon. Spanning an
area of 71,000 sq. ft., the new office is designed to seamlessly
integrate people, places and technology while reflecting Microsoft
values. Built in accordance with the Microsoft Work Place Advantage
(WPA) program, the office melds factors such as light, color, organic
materials, furniture, views, sound, and social presence.
Eight
exciting features about the new Microsoft India office:
- Go with the Flow – Microsoft’s concept of workspace sharing empowers employees and gives them the freedom to choose their workstations on the basis of their mood, personality and workload. In today’s dynamic work environment, this move ensures optimum utilization of space, enables collaboration and facilitates mobility. The possibility of a young employee right out of college sitting next to the Chairman of Microsoft India upholds the ‘One Microsoft’ philosophy.
- App it to map it –The new Windows app , makes it quick and hassle-free to find colleagues and book meeting rooms.
- Collaborate to innovate – Microsoft India has introduced 25% more collaboration spaces than in the earlier office to stimulate interactions among employees. Focus Rooms, Quiet Zones, Phone Booths, Relaxation Rooms and Meeting Rooms have been designed around the office to encourage planned and impromptu meetings.
- FollowMe printing – One of the most exciting features of the new office, FollowMe Printing, allows employees to print and collect documents from the most convenient printer by simply swiping their ID cards.
- Walls of unity - The office seeks to create multiple touch points to interact with employees and visitors using dynamic content video walls. These walls serve as digital bulletin boards and ensure unified messaging across employees.
- Wow to win over – The new customer-centric workplace boasts video walls in the customer area, a product display area and large 60-inch touch display screens to showcase the Microsoft brand and technology and the devices and services it offers.

The Guru-cool social hub – The new social
hub at the Microsoft India office can accommodate up to 300 people
and will be used for informal meetings and to host events within the
office. The hub has been designed around a grand structure resembling
the Banyan tree, symbolic of the ancient Gurukul concept of ‘Learning
under the Banyan tree’.
- A win-win area - A state-of-the-art games room has been set up to help employees unwind and de-stress during work hours. With recreational facilities like a pool table, a foosball table, air hockey and an Xbox Kinect, Microsoft ensures its employees aren’t all work and no play.
