InMobi announced it will be organizing the India chapter of Aaron Swartz memorial hackathon on February 8-9 at the InMobi campus. The hackathon is open to InMobians and outside people as well. The last date for registration for the hackathon is January 31, 2014.
Aaron Swartz recurring hackathons are being organized at locations all over the world in his memory and InMobi is honored to host the Bangalore/India edition. Centered around the theme O’SMAC, participants can carry out hacks in the domains such as social, mobile, analytics & cloud or any other area. As a technology power house, InMobi is excited to hold this event that celebrates spirit of free software & open source and inspires technological advancement. This is a third hackathon organized by InMobi to provide a platform for stimulating ideas and talent.
As described here, Aaron Hillel Swartz (November 8, 1986 – January 11, 2013) was an American computer programmer, writer, political organizer and Internet activist. Swartz was involved in the development of the web feed format RSS, the organization Creative Commons, the website framework web.py and the social news site, Reddit, in which he became a partner after its merger with his company, Infogami. Swartz's later work focused on sociology, civic awareness and activism.
