NIIT Technologies’ CISO Arun Kumar Anand wins DSCI Excellence Awards 2013

NIIT Technologies announced that its Vice-President & Chief Information Security Officer(CISO), Mr. Arun Kumar Anand, is the winner of the DSCI (Data Security Council of India) Excellence Awards 2013 for Security Leader of the Year. This is the second consecutive year that Mr. Anand has received this prestigious award. Anand took over as the VP & CISO of NIIT Technologies Ltd. in September 2011.

The award recognizes Arun’s role in taking strategic and innovative steps in addressing key security issues and creating a conducive environment for doing business thus enabling NIIT Technologies to harness data protection as a lever for business growth. A focal body on data protection in India, setup as an independent Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO) by NASSCOM®, DSCI promotes data protection, develops security and privacy best practices and encourages the Indian industries to implement the same.

Speaking on his achievement, Mr. Arun Kumar Anand, the VP & CISO, NIIT Technologies said, “It is indeed a very humbling experience for me to receive this award from DSCI for the second consecutive year. Under Anand’s able leadership, several innovative steps to ensure information security at NIIT Technologies have been taken which includes an Online Risk Assessment and Monitoring Mechanism which is an efficient online mechanism to monitor and analyse information security processes across the organisation enabling capturing of risks and then minimizing them.
