Union Communication & IT Minister, Kapil Sibal launched the MX100 Leader, a handset by Maxx Mobile particularly designed to cater to the rural Indian markets at the Telecom Exhibition ’13 held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Maxx Mobile, one of India’s largest brands of mobiles and accessories, has a leadership presence in the feature phones segment. The key features of the handset are long lasting battery life of 4400 mAh and LED torch along with sturdy exteriors and is priced at an MRP of Rs. 1932/-
Speaking on the occasion, Ajjay Agarwal, CMD and Founder, Maxx Mobile said “Mobile phones have become the most ubiquitous mode of communication today and have spread to almost every nook and corner of the country. However, most of the phones currently don’t meet the unique requirements of the semi urban/ rural consumers, where electricity, dust etc. are key issues. By the virtue of being one of the pioneers in the mobile market in the country, we understand the unique needs of different segments both, from a feature and price point perspective. We believe this specially designed feature phone will introduce as many consumers to the mobile ecosystem as possible. Now, our consumers can possess a quality mobile with all the features which are essential for the demographics of the rural market, at a reasonable price”
Krishna Singh, COO, Maxx Mobile, who was also present at the event, commented, “As you all are aware the mobile ecosystem is rapidly expanding. The current mobile handset penetration in rural India is less than 40%. We are aware of the great potential which lies in these markets. It is for this reason that we have paid special attention to the specific requirements of our consumers who hail from semi-urban and interior parts of India and tailor made the MX100 LEADER. The move to launch this handset further strengthens our presence in the rural markets of India. ”
Maxx has attempted to provide a phone with features best suited for areas where power cuts are frequent and charging mobile phones constantly becomes difficult. The MX100 boasts of a 4400 MAH battery which gives it a battery life of 3-4 days, assuming normal usage pattern. The battery can also be used as a power bank to charge other phones. The in-built strong LED torch, which emits light up to 10 m, is another prized feature for consumers from these areas. Its sturdy exteriors gear it for any kind of rough usage. These exteriors also protect it from damage due to dust, water etc. to a certain extent.
Apart from these valuable features fit for rural settings, MX100 Leader also comes equipped with various other features such as dual sim, digital camera, Bluetooth, MP3/MP4 player, up to 16 GB expandable memory, FM Radio, GPRS etc., making it a device which is a complete value for money.
