Over 1400 students from various schools from New Delhi participated in the TCS IT Wiz held at
Dogra Hall, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), New Delhi. TCS IT Wiz – India’s largest inter school IT Quiz event was
organised by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading IT services, consulting and business solutions firm.
The regional finals of New Delhi edition
witnessed some edge-of-the-seat quizzing with Apratim Chandra Singh and
Naman Dhanuka from Modern Public School, Barakhamba Road trumping their
closest rivals and Abhijay Gupta and Samarth
Wahal from Delhi Public School, Noida, who came a close second in what
was a fitting end to an exhilarating battle between the tech nerds.
The winners walked away with an
iPad each while the runners up won themselves a galaxy tablet each. The winning duo will represent New Delhi in the mega finals and will contest for the title of
“Smart Tech Wizards 2013.”
The
prizes were distributed by Mr. Debashis Ghosh, President –
Manufacturing, Life Sciences and Energy, & Head TCS North along with
Mr. Tej Bhatla, Vice President
& Deputy Head TCS Delhi and Dr. A.K. Chawla, HR Head TCS, India
North.
Twitter Contest: An interactive live Twitter contest
was also organised during the quiz to engage with the
students in real-time as a part of our social media outreach programme.
As many as 4516 tweets were recorded during the regional finals.
This year through the TCS IT Wiz, the
hunt for smart Tech Wizard will be held across 14 locations across the
country - Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Coimbatore, New
Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow,
Kochi, Nagpur and Pune. The winners of the UAE edition will also
compete in this Mega finals for title.
TCS IT Wiz
Format: The written prelims had a set of
20 questions for all the teams at the venue. The top six teams from the written prelim qualified for the Regional final.
