With the clock ticking
toward the end of Windows XP support in April 2014, and in response
to customer need, Dell Services announced the addition of Windows
Migration Fast Forward Service to its migration services. Dell’s
Windows Migration Fast Forward Service, as claimed, helps customers
jump-start a new migration or fast-forward one already in progress
with unique tools and proven practices to ensure readiness.
Dell Services boasts to deploy more than a million enterprise-class Windows 7 and Windows 8 devices in over 150 countries each year. Dell’s team of IT experts claims to simplify the path to migration with services that deliver application, hardware and deployment readiness. Dell’s Windows Migration Fast Forward Service offers pre-packaged modules to address all stages in the Windows migration process for up to 5,000 PCs including: image engineering, inventory and rationalization of applications, application compatibility testing, application packaging, deployment planning, process automation and field deployment. This gives customers the flexibility to choose the package of services that best fits their needs while streamlining the process to save time and money.
“Dell Services brings to market a comprehensive approach to the XP Migration challenge from addressing the critical application requirements in the new operating system while also achieving significant ROI on deployment activities for its customers,” said Ali Zaidi,
Worldwide and U.S. IT Consulting & Systems Integration Services Research Lead, IDC.
“Microsoft continues to recognize their abilities with awards earned in 2012 and 2013 for Windows Deployment. The latest set of offerings to help customers fast forward their existing migrations will give customers the needed boost to finish their projects on time.”
As a global leader in IT services, Dell has worked across all industries to facilitate migration. Some examples include, the German tourism company TUIfly, Tulsa Community College and the major Australian retail chain Coles. For organizations that require more complex solutions, Dell’s Windows Migration Services provide a comprehensive range of options to develop and execute a migration strategy tailored to their specific needs. IT departments that partner with Dell’s team of Windows migration experts minimize IT resource strain and software licensing costs while maximizing management software investments and end-user experience.
“About 21 percent[1] of PCs are still running Windows XP. This is an industry-wide issue that many of our customers are dealing with right now,” says Kevin Jones, Vice President and General Manager, Infrastructure and Cloud Computing Services. “Our goal is to provide organizations of all sizes with an efficient migration solution. The Windows Migration Fast Forward Service adds to Dell’s complete suite of migration offerings that make upgrading to Windows 7 or Windows 8 fast, simple and affordable.”
By taking a holistic approach, Dell Services develops a total solution to deploy, integrate and support Windows 7 or Windows 8. Dell’s end-to-end expertise addresses Windows migration from the data center to the end point, empowering customers to innovate their IT environments with ease.
